From the very start, right on Chapter 2, this one managed to grip my weak & cold heart. I had to say this first and foremost, though. All of the pain and unfairness of it all was worth it in the end. Heartbreaking this read might be, all six of these characters deserved happiness.

The in-between was the most painful though. The chaos, betrayal, miscommunication, distrust and oppression were presented there. I have seen this spirited woman became a shell of herself. I have seen strong and reliable men became blinded, unable to see the bigger picture. But all of those weaknesses were what made them real to me. And it was a beautiful sight (in my imagination at least) when all the puzzle pieces connected to each other eventually.

Audrey. Audrey might be your usual dystopian heroine. Lack of faith over men. Single-mindedness and stubbornness. All of these characteristics drove me crazy. I had to take a pause and a breather every now and then because she almost wore me thin. She failed to listen to her instincts. She ignored common sense. But again, with all of those being said, she grew up in a world I couldn't even fathom. No matter how good of a reader I was or how creative my imagination was...I would not come close to what she actually went through.

Plus, for all those frustrating things she made me feel, I couldn't help but admire all her strengths. She was so strong and so brave when she stood up for Camila. When she knew her fault for misjudging Sophia, knowing she grew up differently than her. She was so understanding and accepting when Mateo opened up with her. She was so protective of Danny from other men who laughed at the big, overgrown man of a puppy. Or was he overgrown puppy of a man? Lol. Or when she was patient with Graham and his oddities. When she saw right through Clark's facade of being a cool player and knew he's softer and kinder than he let on. Or when she helped Nix move on from a tragic past and coaxed him out of his detached shell of a self.

All of the men were beautiful, too, on their own. There was a time, they were too caught up on feeling deceived by Audrey so they felt the need to tighten up the security, so to speak. But no heroes were perfect. And when they learned of their mistakes, they owned said mistakes and done their best to correct it asap. *dreamy sigh*

The ending was great, the characters deserved that. Though, I surely wanted to read wherein they're working and having that happiness, too. Please? hahahahaha.

And that surprise in the end.....I was just so happy to see these six people having what they deserve to dwell on that. I felt robbed of my heartbreak? If that was a thing? lol

Also, this read ended halfway through the whole thing and there's a policy about being stuffed with other freebies just to earn more but I think that only counted if the book was enrolled in KU? I'm not sure...

Theirs To Protect Audrey Book Marriage Raffle 1 edition by Stasia Black Romance eBooks Reviews

This is, without a doubt, one of my top 5 romances EVER.

Stasia Black is always surprising as an author to me. She doesn't have a certain "genre" of erotica that she sticks to. Instead, she likes to pick different kinks, and then commit to that kink in a book 100%. As a result, there are some books of hers I hate intensely, and others I love. For example, if she writes about a dominatrix, the story will be full of humiliation, violence, and men being abused and belittled. If she writes a story about M/M, the woman will take a back seat in the love triangle and the detail of men working through their conflicting emotions and alpha-hood takes center stage. If she writes a story about rape/dubious consent, it will be violent, angry, abusive and unapologetic. She doesn't pull her punches, tame stuff down for the masses, or pretend it's all love. So, if you like dubious consent or BDSM, and you read one of her books about those topics, you'll love it. But if you don't, it will push all the wrong buttons and you will be disgusted with the intensity and depth of detail.

It is because of this penchant of hers to commit and develop an erotic kink in a book, that I loved loved LOVED the reverse harem story Theirs To Protect. The attention is all on the woman. The men are unique and not cookie-cutter hunks (as much as the cover would like you believe). For example, one is a sweet geek with glasses, another is a dominant male all tatted up, another is sensitive and emotional because he is an abuse survivor. You get the picture. As a result, the love-making differs in each erotic scene because of the men and their personalities. And it is HOT. And beautiful. And emotional. And painful (to the heart, not the body). She develops the multiple partner story line so much better than most authors ever try. She shows the intricacies in having relationships with more than one person, how difficult it can be to balance, and how emotions can get in the way.

On top of all this character development and raw, beautiful writing, the story is set in a future world. Not quite as dystopian and empty as other sci-fi books, but still a world recovering from a plague and a huge loss of life. As a result, the love story is sewn into a back-story of intrigue, spies, action, betrayal and bad guys/good guys. It's not a "girl falls in love with billionaires and they buy her stuff and have awesome sex" kind of book. There's an actual plot line, story, and really really really good writing.

Also, I am happy to say this book is free of degradation or humiliation that has colored a lot of her other books. It is a good story. A sweet story. An emotional story. And a very very sexy story. I love it.
Yes, I did read the whole thing. God help me. Anyhow, the book is stuffed with at least one complete novel, a short story collection and a few other random bits and bobs which are obviously placed there to lure the reader into more page turns.

Shame on the author. This is obviously a means of gaming the system and a violation of 's TOS.

As for the book, its derivative of another, features 2 dimensional characters indulging in lots of sloppy sex. Violence, sexual assault and writing that's just enough to do the job. Lots of magical vajayjay healing broken men.
I have been reading Stasia books for awhile and I just got to say that every single book of hers are so good love the intensity the emotions and the action that comes with her books. And this is was just a very good read. Audrey lives in a world where there are fewer women where the men have to pair up to get one. here are five men who have suffer in the past where they believe they don't deserve happiness in theirs live and Audrey she feels the same. But they don't realize that they can find that love and fight for it until it's almost too late and envied and greedy almost took all that way. love all this men Nix was my favorite of the bunch. I see so many possibilities for more to come I hope we get more from this apocalyptic kind of world we have in the story really looking forward for more.I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily chose to review it.
